The Ripple Effect of our ACTIONS
May 2nd, 2009 by DUZIE received No Comments »I sat one day on my lake and just stared at the water. A fish would jump and create a splash. The waves would ripple until they hit something.. Depending on where in the lake it happened, the ripples could widen out and go for a very long ways. Sometimes the ripples were stong enough to make a raft bobo up and down, or a boat move from side to side. That is how our actions are. I forget, all the time, that my actions affect others. But like the waves, what I do ripples out until it hits something.
I would like to think that I can have a bad day and it doesn’t effect anyone around me. I would like to think that the way I act when I am down or upset is covered up enough no one notices. But the truth is, everytime I do or act in any way it is seen and it effects others. Sometimes this makes me want to hide what I am feeling or dealing with so no one can see. I don’t want to “bother” anyone. But my friends, my true friends, see no matter how I try to hide it and they want to know what is going on and how they can help. They don’t see me as a “bother” and tell me that! Sometimes I need to be reminded of that.
Posted under: Life, UncategorizedHow do your actions effect those around you? Do you try to hide them, even though you can’t? Do you realize that is an ACTION too and that has its effect on those around you? How are your ACTIONS today showing others where God is in your life?
